STAGES RESTAURANT TEMPORARILY CLOSED Stages Restaurant at Joburg Theatre will be closed from 1 July to 31 October 2025 due to renovations. A temporary restaurant will be open in the Sophiatown on the 2nd floor of the theatre for all productions during this period, including Swan Lake.

Joburg Ballet invites you to the Spring Season of Dance at the Joburg Theatre from 3 to 12 October. From iconic classics to new creations, this compelling season is a tribute to the visionaries shaping the future of ballet.
The season opens on Friday 3 October with the SANDT Spring Gala funded by the National Lotteries Commission and the National Arts Council and presented by the South African National Dance Trust (SANDT) in partnership with Joburg Ballet.
Second programme of the season is the world premiere of Celestial Bodies on 4 and 5 October and the season culminates with First Light from 9 to 12 October, a programme of five short ballets comprising new works and repertory revivals. Read more
Book for SANDT Spring Gala Book for Celestial Bodies Book for First LightOn Saturday 4 October, the day following the Gala night, The Royal Ballet guest artists will present a masterclass followed by a discussion about Sir Frederick Ashton’s work and contribution to the dance world, and a Q&A session with the guest artists. This educational opportunity is aimed at professional dancers, pre-professional dancers, senior dance students, dance educators and interested balletomanes.
