Providing ballet training for pre-professional students

First year Academy students are admitted through The Val Whyte Bursary auditions and students taking part must be 13 years of age or entering into Grade 8 the following year. Successful students have their fees covered by the bursary for one year of Academy classes.

Separate Academy auditions for classically-trained students aged 14+ can be arranged by appointment, please contact Joburg Ballet Artistic Director Iain MacDonald: iain@joburgballet.com

The annual fee for Joburg Ballet Academy classes is R4 500 and they take place on:

  • Tuesdays: 18:00 – 19:30 (Level 1 & Level 2)
  • Saturdays: 13:00 – 14:30 (Level 2) & 14:30 – 16:00 (Level 1)
