Aspirant Programme

Relaunched under the artistic direction of Dane Hurst and led by Kitty Phetla, Nicole Ferreira Dill and Thabani Ntuli, the programme bridges the gap between training and professional company life through rigorous technical training, mentorship, performance experience and industry exposure. Based at the Anglo American Foundation’s 44 Main building, with additional support from the Joburg Ballet Studios, the programme aims to develop courageous, versatile and highly skilled performing artists equipped for the future of the artform.

Through accessible, industry-relevant training, artistic mentorship and professional integration, the programme seeks to create a sustainable pathway into professional dance careers while supporting transformation, excellence and the long-term future of dance in South Africa.
