Tammy Higgins joined Joburg Ballet as a Senior Soloist in May 2022. She started ballet lessons at the age of five and also trained in tap, Spanish and modern dance. Johannesburg-born Tammy Higgins joined South African Ballet Theatre after matriculating at the National School of the Arts in 2004. In 2008 she joined the Hungarian National Ballet in Budapest where she worked with renowned choreographers, teachers and dancers from around the world. After guesting as Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty in Mexico City, she joined the Croatian National Ballet in 2015. She was a principal dancer with Cape Town City Ballet from 2020 to 2022. Tammy has danced leading roles in the classical repertoire as well as in works by choreographers Jiri Kylian, George Balanchine, Vladimir Malakhov, Patrice Bart and Robert North to name a few.
